Things to check when Pairing the Devices fails

Updated over 2 weeks ago
  • Make sure that the ChickenGuard is in Pairing Mode

The ChickenGuard LCD screen should display the following text when set correctly. This indicates that the device is ready and waiting to receive pairing instructions over the radio link.

If the display shows the following message, this indicates that the correct Menu item has been located, BUT, it has not been selected.

PRESS THE CENTRE BUTTON TO START THE PROCCESS

You may have to start the process again from the App if it has timed-out.

  • Are there Obstructions between the Radio and HomeHub

In an ideal setup, the range of the radio can exceed 1mile, however buildings, heavy foliage and other obstructions can reduce this distance. Additionlly, is is not always possible to have a clear line of sight between the Radio and HomeHub.

Try repositioning the Radio to an elevated position on the coop if possible. You can also reposition the HomeHub for a better "view" of the coop.
