Coop Returns & Refund Policy

Returns & Refund Policy

At ChickenGuard, we want you to be happy with your purchase. If something isn’t right, please contact our Customer Support team before returning your product. In many cases, we can resolve an issue quickly through troubleshooting or by supplying a replacement component.

Your Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, or any other applicable UK consumer law.

30-Day Return Policy

In addition to your statutory rights, ChickenGuard offers a 30-day return policy for eligible products purchased directly from ChickenGuard.

If you change your mind, please contact us within 30 days of receiving your order to request a return.

For eligible change-of-mind returns, return shipping or collection costs will normally be covered by the customer. ChickenGuard can arrange the return on your behalf where possible, with the applicable cost deducted from the refund.

Orders paid for using Klarna may also be subject to an additional £20 return processing charge where applicable and permitted.

Change-of-Mind Returns

Products may be returned within 30 days of delivery, provided that they:

· Have not been used beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect them.

· Have not been exposed to poultry, livestock, animal waste, bedding or other contamination risks.

· Are returned in their original packaging where reasonably possible.

· Include all supplied parts, panels, fittings, fixings, accessories, instructions and documentation.

· Have not been altered or damaged after delivery.

Customers are normally responsible for the cost of returning products where the return is due to a change of mind.

Please contact ChickenGuard before arranging a return so that we can provide the appropriate return instructions.

ChickenGuard Coops

ChickenGuard coops are designed with individually replaceable panels, fittings and components. Damage or a fault affecting one part of the coop will therefore not normally mean that the complete coop needs to be returned or replaced.

Replaceable components may include panels, nest-box lids, doors, roof sections, fittings, fixings and other individual parts.

If a component arrives damaged, is missing or appears to be defective, please contact ChickenGuard Customer Support and provide:

· Your order number.

· A description of the affected component.

· Clear photographs showing the issue.

· Photographs of the packaging where the damage appears to have occurred during delivery.

Where appropriate, ChickenGuard may offer to send the relevant replacement panel, fitting or component as a quick and convenient way of resolving the issue.

Where a replacement component is not appropriate or does not resolve the problem, we will advise you on the available next steps.

This repair and replacement service does not restrict any statutory remedy or right to reject goods that you may have under applicable consumer law.

Please retain the complete coop, packaging and affected components while your case is being assessed. Do not dispose of or return individual parts unless ChickenGuard has provided instructions.

Assembled or Used Coops

For change-of-mind returns, a coop should not have been installed outdoors, used to house animals, altered or assembled beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect the product and establish its nature, characteristics and functionality.

If a coop has been assembled, installed, used outdoors, exposed to animals or otherwise handled beyond what is reasonably necessary for inspection, ChickenGuard may reduce the refund to reflect any resulting loss in value where permitted by law.

Missing, damaged, altered, used or contaminated components may also result in a reduction to the refund where permitted by applicable law.

Biosecurity & Hygiene

Biosecurity is particularly important for products used to house or care for poultry.

Products that have been exposed to poultry, livestock, animal waste, bedding materials, parasites, pests, disease or other contamination risks may require additional handling and may no longer be suitable for resale.

Such exposure may affect eligibility under ChickenGuard's additional 30-day change-of-mind policy and/or result in a reduction in the refund to reflect loss in value where permitted by law.

This does not affect your statutory rights if the product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied, misdescribed or otherwise does not conform to the contract.

Accidental or Customer-Caused Coop Damage

Because ChickenGuard coops are designed using replaceable components, we may be able to supply replacement panels or parts where a coop is accidentally damaged after delivery.

Examples include damage caused by:

· A falling branch or other heavy object.

· A panel or nest-box lid being driven over.

· Animals.

· Moving or relocating the coop.

· Incorrect assembly or installation.

· Accidental damage.

· Misuse, neglect or inadequate care.

Damage occurring after delivery as a result of accident, misuse, neglect, incorrect assembly, incorrect installation or inadequate care is not normally considered a manufacturing defect.

However, ChickenGuard may be able to supply the required replacement panel or component for purchase, avoiding the need to replace the complete coop.

Damaged, Faulty, Incomplete or Incorrect Products

Please contact ChickenGuard as soon as possible if your product:

· Arrives damaged.

· Appears to be faulty.

· Is missing a component.

· Is not the product you ordered.

· Develops a problem during the applicable warranty period.

Where delivery damage is identified, we recommend contacting us within 72 hours where reasonably possible, as this can help us investigate the issue with the carrier. Failure to report delivery damage within 72 hours does not affect your statutory rights.

We may ask for photographs, videos or other information to help us identify the problem and determine the most appropriate solution.

Where appropriate and agreed with the customer, the quickest solution may be troubleshooting or replacement of an individual component rather than returning the complete product.

Depending on the circumstances, remedies for faulty goods may include repair, replacement, price reduction or refund in accordance with applicable consumer law.

Automatic Door Openers and Replacement Components

ChickenGuard automatic door opener units are designed with replaceable electrical and mechanical components, meaning many issues can be resolved without replacing or returning the complete unit.

Depending on the issue, replacement components may include control panels, motors, cables, connectors, solar components, door components or other electrical or mechanical parts.

Where appropriate, ChickenGuard may offer troubleshooting or supply a replacement component to resolve the issue.

Red Mite and Pest Damage to Automatic Door Openers

ChickenGuard automatic door opener units and their electrical and mechanical components should be installed in a clean and suitably maintained chicken coop.

Customers are responsible for regularly checking, cleaning and treating their coop to prevent and control red mite and other pest infestations.

Damage, contamination or malfunction caused by red mites or other pests entering or accumulating within an automatic opener unit, control panel, motor or another electrical or mechanical component is not considered a manufacturing defect.

Where evidence reasonably establishes that the problem was caused by infestation, the affected component may not qualify for a free warranty replacement.

ChickenGuard may still be able to provide technical assistance or supply the required replacement component for purchase.

The coop should be thoroughly cleaned and appropriately treated before a replacement opener or component is installed.

This section relates to automatic door opener units and their electrical and mechanical components. It does not apply to the ChickenGuard coop itself.

Return Authorisation

Please contact ChickenGuard Customer Support ([email protected]) before returning any product.

We may request your order details, photographs, videos or other information to help us understand the issue and process your return.

Please do not send products or components to ChickenGuard without first receiving return instructions, as this may delay the processing of your return.

Return Shipping & Collection Costs

For change-of-mind returns, customers are responsible for the cost of returning the product to ChickenGuard.

ChickenGuard can arrange the return or collection on the customer's behalf where possible. Any return shipping, courier or collection costs will be covered by the customer and may be deducted from the final refund.

We will confirm the applicable return or collection cost before arranging the return.

Where a return is made under ChickenGuard's additional 30-day returns policy and the original order was paid for using Klarna, an additional £20 Klarna return processing charge may also apply where permitted.

This £20 charge will be added to any applicable return shipping, courier or collection cost and may be deducted from the final refund.

The customer may also arrange their own return, provided this has been agreed with ChickenGuard in advance and the product is returned using an appropriate tracked and insured delivery service.

Where a product is faulty, damaged on arrival, incomplete, incorrectly supplied or not as described, ChickenGuard will cover reasonable return costs in accordance with the customer's statutory rights.

The Klarna return processing charge will not apply where doing so would conflict with the customer's statutory rights.

Please contact ChickenGuard Customer Support before returning any product so that we can provide the appropriate return instructions.

Refund Processing

Once a returned product has been received, it will be inspected to confirm its condition and completeness.

We aim to process approved refunds within 7 days of receiving the returned goods. In all cases, refunds will be processed within the time limits required by applicable consumer law.

Refunds will normally be issued to the original payment method.

Where permitted by law, a refund may be reduced to reflect loss in value resulting from missing components, damage, contamination, alteration or handling beyond what was reasonably necessary to inspect the product.

Applicable return shipping, courier or collection charges may also be deducted from the refund for eligible change-of-mind returns.

Where applicable, the £20 Klarna return processing charge may also be deducted from the refund.

Predator Protection Disclaimer

ChickenGuard products are designed to help protect poultry against common predators when properly assembled, installed, used and maintained.

However, no poultry housing, door or security system can guarantee complete protection against predators or prevent all possible losses.

ChickenGuard coops are designed and engineered to provide a high level of protection against common poultry predators when correctly assembled, installed and maintained.

The coop has been designed to minimise potential access points while also allowing the product to function correctly in everyday use. However, no chicken coop can be completely sealed or guarantee 100% protection against every predator.

Small gaps or tolerances may be present around areas such as the corners, roof, nest box, doors and floor. These are necessary for the materials to expand and contract, for drainage and ventilation, and to allow functional or removable components, such as the nest box, to operate correctly.

These spaces are designed to be kept as small and secure as reasonably possible. However, some predators can be highly intelligent, persistent and capable of exploiting very small openings or weaknesses over time. A determined predator may therefore attempt to gain access by biting, pulling, digging, forcing or repeatedly testing parts of the coop.

For this reason, customers should regularly inspect the coop and surrounding area for signs of damage, movement, digging or attempted access, and ensure that all panels, doors, roof sections, nest-box components, fixings and locking points remain correctly fitted and secure.

Automatic door openers and related equipment can be affected by circumstances including depleted or unsuitable batteries, power interruptions, mechanical issues, environmental conditions, incorrect installation, obstruction, maintenance issues, user error or other circumstances outside ChickenGuard's reasonable control.

Customers remain responsible for regularly checking their poultry, coop and security arrangements and for maintaining appropriate animal husbandry and predator-protection measures.

Nothing in this section excludes or limits any liability or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded or limited under UK law.

Proof of Purchase

We may ask for your order number or other proof of purchase when providing technical support, replacement parts, warranty assistance, returns or refunds.
