Obtain the dedicated ChickenGuard USB cable: This cable is specifically designed for the device to ensure compatibility and prevent operational issues.
Choose a suitable USB power adapter: Select an adapter rated at 5V and 1-2A, such as a standard phone charger meeting these specifications.
Connect the USB cable to the ChickenGuard unit: Insert the end of the cable into the USB port on the ChickenGuard MK4/Extreme.
Plug the USB adapter into a wall outlet: Ensure the connection is secure, and confirm the device powers on correctly. This bespoke cable can be used with a 5-volt 2-amp plug, e.g. a phone charger adapter.### Troubleshooting and Additional Notes
If the device fails to power on, double-check the cable connections and ensure the USB adapter meets the specified voltage and amperage requirements.
Always use non-rechargeable AA alkaline batteries if opting for battery power as an alternative.### Important Warnings
Do not use standard USB cables: As mentioned, they can trigger firmware update mode, disabling normal operation.
Avoid using a 6V external adapter: The MK4/Extreme is not designed to support 6V power supplies. Using one can cause motor power errors and may void your warranty.
