Can the All-in-One run on solar power?
In February/March 2024, the Solar Optimised All-in-One model have/will become available to purchase in some locations.
When purchasing a Solar All-in-One, you will receive 1x solar panel and set of 4x NiMH batteries.
The solar optimised model will be clearly marked with a special model label.
Can the ChickenGuard PRO run on solar power?
In Spring 2024, the PRO Solar Upgrade Kit will become available in some locations.
When purchasing a PRO Solar Upgrade Kit, you will receive 1x solar panel and 1x solar charger block (which holds 4x NiMH batteries).
Are other ChickenGuard models solar compatible?
The PRO Solar Upgrade Kit will be backwards compatible with all models of ChickenGuard Door Openers which have a USB input. This includes Mark-4 and Mark-5 models.
Some of our older models are also compatible with generic solar setups; S5, P5, X5, and older PRO models may be powered using a 2.1mm barrel style DC power cable and an adapter that provides 9 volts. A ChickenGuard PRO Solar Kit can be purchased from our store.
NOTE: The Pro Solar Upgrade Kit is not yet available for purchase.
