Identifying ChickenGuard Models

Learn about the different models we have sold and determine which model your door opener is.

Updated over 8 months ago

ChickenGuard celebrates our 10th Anniversary in 2023, and in that time we have sold various different models. In this help article, we will help you to determine which model your door opener is and which generation it belongs to.

All-in-One

The All-in-One model was released in Spring of 2023 in the UK, US and Canada. It was released in Europe and Australia in the late Summer.

The main features of the All-in-One are:

  • All-in-one design for minimal user setup

  • Automatic door calibration

  • Extension box, allowing the control panel to be mounted at a more accessible location (as of 2024, this is now an optional extra item, which you can purchase separately to the main product)

  • External power compatibility; information pertaining to the require DC power cable can be found in your user manual, or in our External Power Option help article.

  • Extreme weather resistance

  • Self-locking door*

*The All-in-One unit utilises a cog which is attached to the DC motor, and the cog turns the door using the notches/square holes cut into the sheet metal. A DC type motor essentially locks in place when not moving, meaning it locks the door in its closed position. It has been tested to ensure that a pest or predator can not lift it in the way that it would be able to lift a standard pop-hole door.

All-in-One Solar

The All-in-One Solar model was released in early 2024.

The main features of the All-in-One Solar are:

  • All-in-one design for minimal user setup

  • Solar Kit for continuous, reliable power supply

  • Automatic door calibration

  • Extension box available as an optional extra item, allowing the control panel to be mounted at a more accessible location

  • Triple Power compatibility; can also be powered using batteries or a DC power cable

  • Extreme weather resistance

  • Self-locking door*
