Learn about the Close Settings options in the ChickenGuard App

Updated over a week ago

NOTE: The ChickenGuard App Kit is currently not yet available for purchase, and is still in the beta testing stage. Talk to Customer Support to be added to the waitlist and be one of the first to hear when the kit is released.

The options you'll find in the App's Close Settings are almost the same as the options you'll find in the Door Opener's Close Settings, but there is also an extra feature which is not available on the Door Opener itself: Computed Sunset.

Manual

The "Manual" option disables the automatic door closing.

To close the door, you will need to press the DOWN button on the Door Opener itself, or the DOWN arrow in the app's Home Page.

Sensor

The "Sensor" option uses the light sensor to close the door after the sun sets.

(The light level the Door Opener regards as sunset can be altered inside the "LUX Settings".)

Timer

The "Timer" options allows you to set the time you would like the door to close.

When the screen reads "Timer", tap the MENU button to enter the setting.

Use the UP and DOWN arrows to set the hour value. Then tap the MENU button.

Use the UP and DOWN arrows to set the minute value. Then tap the MENU button to save the Timer.

LUX+

The "LUX+" option uses the Sensor to close the door after sunset, but also allows you to set a backup Timer.

When the screen reads "LUX+", tap the MENU button to enter the setting.

Use the UP and DOWN arrows to set the hour value. Then tap the MENU button.

Use the UP and DOWN arrows to set the minute value. Then tap the MENU button to save the backup Timer.

Computed Sunset

The "Computed Sunset" option uses your location to calculate the time that the sun will set in your area - this is updated daily to keep up with the changing seasons.

When the screen reads "Computed Sunset", tap the MENU button to enter the setting.

Use the UP or DOWN arrow to increase or decrease the Offset if you would like. The "Offset" refers to a period of time before or after sunset that the Door Opener will close the door.

You can increase or decrease the Offset by increments of 5, up to 90 minutes.

EXIT

"EXIT" is the last option inside any area of the Settings Menu. Tapping the MENU button when "EXIT" is on the screen will close the Settings Menu and take you back to the ome Page.
